CEAS spin-out Holiferm lands $7m investment
A spin-out company created by an academic and former PhD researcher in the (CEAS) has received a $7 million (£5.1 million) investment boost.
stemmed from research within The ¼â½ÐÊÓƵapp, with current CEAS academic James Winterburn and former CEAS PhD researcher Ben Dolman working to invent the technology involved in its continual fermentation processes for the manufacture of biosurfactants – a greener alternative to surfactants for use in environmentally-friendly home and personal care products.
The company will use this investment to build a commercial biosurfactant plant, allowing it to elevate its work in the biosurfactant space, and bring this to market at a competitive price point.
